Akira Watson is an associate attorney dedicated to advocating for his clients within the Class Action practice group of Cory Watson Attorneys in Birmingham, Alabama. Akira was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating from The University of St. Andrews in Scotland, he spent some time working in his field of study, International Relations, which took him to places as far flung as Sweden and Jordan. While growing up, Akira was initially intimidated seeing the effort his mother, Leila Watson, put in to serve her clients and build this law firm. Although Akira deeply values his post-undergrad overseas experience, his accomplishments felt somewhat academic, and he wanted to apply his skills to improve the world and help people in a more immediate and tangible way. He decided a career in law was the best way to do this, and that the time and effort this profession requires was not something to fear but to embrace as the price for effecting change. Akira received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was proud to compete as part of the University’s Environmental Law Moot Court team. He was also recognized as the Best Senior Editor at the Alabama Law Review.
