Chiropractor Jim Weatherley, DC — I was born and raised in Searcy, AR and moved to Conway in 1990 to attend Central Baptist College followed by the University of Central Arkansas. After graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1994, I worked in the business world till 2003 until I decided to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic. I graduated Cum Laude in April 2007 and was on the Dean’s List eight times while in school. I have completed all four sets of the National Board Exam and have received a license to practice in Arkansas.
Many people wonder why I left corporate America to go back to school to be a chiropractor. When I was a teenager I had a severe injury to my spine and had a great outcome with chiropractic treatment. With that, I learned how critical the spine is to the overall function of the body. My family and I were patients of Dr. MacNamara of Conway and over the years that he treated us, he would say things to me like “Jim, you should have been a chiropractor – you would make a great one.” After a while, I began considering the idea and took an anatomy class at UCA. That closed the deal for me – I realized just how amazing the human body is and wanted to help people by keeping their spine healthy. It was a difficult decision. My wife and I prayed and looked at all the options and finally decided I should go for it. Our biggest concern was taking our son (we now have 2 boys) away from his grandparents. We knew it would only be for a few years and could come home as often as possible to visit. It was a great experience but there is no place like home and we are all glad to be back home.
