In addition to the hard work and dedication required to successfully help clients recover compensation for their injuries, Mr. Murphey believes in practicing law with energy and enthusiasm. He makes sure that his clients know what to expect out of the legal system, including contingencies and complications that can possibly arise in more complex personal injury cases. He is a strong advocate for injured clients throughout South Florida, and he takes the responsibility of recovering financial compensation for those clients seriously in every case.
Mr. Murphey was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1971. Before entering college, he served in the United States Army Infantry where he earned, among other things, his airborne wings and had the honor of serving as a sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
He earned his A.A. summa cum laude from Miami-Dade Community College in 1999 and his B.A. from Florida International University magna cum laude in 2002 and was graduated Phi Beta Kappa. In 2006, Mr. Murphey earned his law degree cum laude from Nova Southeastern University. There, he was an articles editor for the Nova Law Review and served on the Moot Court Executive Board.
His practice areas include maritime claims, personal injury, professional malpractice, civil appeals, and labor disputes. Mr. Murphey has represented clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, Florida’s First, Second, Third, and Fourth District Courts of Appeal, the Social Security Administration Office of Hearings and Appeals, the United States Department of Labor, Florida’s Division of Administrative Hearings, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and numerous other state and federal courts.
Mr. Murphey is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Federal and Eleventh Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, and all Florida Courts.
