Nicolas Gutierrez has always felt the desire to become a lawyer, thanks to the influential reinforcement of his grandfathers.
“My grandfather on my mom’s side would always laugh about my tendency to argue over every little point, and encouraged this trait. My grandfather on my dad’s side always preached about providing help to others, and encouraged me to focus on law so that I could help those who needed it.”
Nicolas was born in Baltimore, Maryland and planted Southern roots growing up in Hoover, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish.
Honored with the Bo Cole scholarship, Nicolas received his J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. There, he was nominated for Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges and served on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.
As an associate attorney at Cory Watson, Nicolas focuses his practice on motor vehicle litigation and serious personal injury claims. Nicolas remains active with the Cumberland School of Law, especially the Admission Office.
