Life-threatening injuries to motorcyclist after Pinellas Park crash

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on May 31, 2021, Pinellas Park Police Department officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle in the 9300 block of northbound US Highway 19. David Hollis, 67, of Pinellas Park, was the driver of the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Debra Felton, 58, drove southbound US Highway 19 into the parking lot of 9359 US Highway 19. The green 1998 Ford F150 she was driving was making a left turn from southbound. Felton was able to turn left because traffic in the median and middle lanes was stopped for traffic ahead. In the curb lane of US Highway 19, Hollis was driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle. In order to avoid colliding with a truck, the motorcycle changed lanes. In the right turn lane, Hollis laid down his bike upon changing lanes and struck the truck's front. According to investigators, neither speed nor impairment played a role in the crash.
