CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS

Our injury physicians analyze the spine and provide specific forces into the body by hand and with instruments in order to mobilize spinal joints and reduce muscle spasms and imbalance in the body.

MANUAL THERAPY

Similar to massage, manual therapy is a more targeted and specific therapy performed by hand which is intended to produce any or all of the following effects: improve tissue extensibility; increase range of motion of the joint complex; mobilize or manipulate soft tissues and joints; induce relaxation; change muscle function; modulate pain; and reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation or movement restriction.

NEUROMUSCULAR RE-EDUCATION (NMR)

Neuromuscular re-education consists of training (or re-training) your muscles, your brain, and the nerves used for them to communicate with each other to improve movement, strength, balance, and function. In our clinic, a combination of vibration therapy using a power plate and facilitative stretching is used to re-educate your body to move properly following injury.

THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE

Therapeutic exercise refers to a wide range of physical activities that focus on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexibility, stability, and balance. The goal of introducing therapeutic exercises to our patients is to return an injured patient back to a fully functioning, pain-injury state.
After conducting an evaluation of the individual’s physical capabilities and reviewing the medical history, our injury team composes a treatment plan appropriate for the patient’s needs. Our injury doctors and therapists monitor the progress of each patient and modify each plan according to patient progress.

INTERSEGMENTAL SPINAL TRACTION

Intersegmental traction is an effective chiropractic therapy that facilitates passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching the spinal joints and increase mobility. Intersegmental traction helps to re-establish normal ranges of motion gently and effectively within the spine and reduce muscular hypertonicity or spasm.
Intersegmental traction is delivered using a specialized traction table with rollers. As the rollers work their way up and down the spine, the vertebrae are gently messaged and tractioned thus elongating and stretching the spinal joints and muscles.

ELECTRICAL MUSCLE STIMULATION (EMS)

Electrical Muscle Stimulation or E-Stim is a therapeutic modality used to assist in reducing pain, muscle spasm, and localized inflammation. A current is delivered to the muscles involved using pads that are placed on the skin. These pads are connected to an electrical unit which is gradually increased to patient comfort until the muscle begins to contract. This muscle contraction aids in fatiguing the muscle and producing a more relaxed state following the therapy.

IONTOPHORESIS

Iontophoresis is a process by which medications or solutions are delivered across the skin and directly to the muscle by using a small electrode. Iontophoresis is a painless therapy that delivers Magnesium Sulfate to the site of inflammation and spasm in order to reduce localized pain and tissue damage.
